Tip One: The Fix for Garbled Text in Entourage Email!

This problem has been on our hit list for months. Many Entourage users report sporadic problems with garbled text in certain mail messages.

We covered one related issue caused by duplicate Helvetica's way back in Tip #04: Fix Garbled Fonts in Safari, Explorer or Mail. That solution helped, but there was something else going on as well. Here is the last (we hope) missing piece:

Quit Entourage, open the following folder on your computer, and delete the two files listed below:

Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Caches

- com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
- Tasman Browser.cache

With these two files removed, relaunch Entourage and see if the text display is fixed. Let us know what happens (email us at tips@creativetechs.com).

Note: The graphic in this email contains a link to the web version of this tip. Because if someone is experiencing this problem right now, they may not be able to read the solution sitting in their email inbox.

Tip Two: Organize Your Studio's Books w/ Delicious Library.

Delicious Library is a remarkably useful program for cataloging and organizing a studio's creative library. It is equally addictive for keeping track of personal collections of books, music or movies.

Plug in an Apple iSight and start scanning. Delicious Library uses a product’s bar code to query Amazon.com and automatically imports cover art and all pertinent details. (You can also enter UPC codes manually)

Extra tip: The 3rd party DeliciWeb lets you publish your book collection as a web page.

[Source: Consultant Craig Swanson had seen Delicious Library many times before. It was not until we needed to organize CreativeTechs' book collection that we realized just how cool this program is!]
