CreativeTechs QuickTips #57 Tutorial Week of September 5, 2005

Tip One: Create Water Droplets Tutorial.

Here are visual step-by-step instructions to create the quick realistic water droplets shown in QuickTips #57. This tutorial assumes a basic knowledge of how to use Photoshop layers.

Step 1: Draw black drops on a new layer.

Step 2: Apply Photoshop's Wave Filter. (Filter>Distort>Wave...)

Use the following settings to replicate our example.

Step 3: Apply a variety of Layer Styles to your drops layer.

This example uses csutom setting for Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss. Download the example layered Photoshop file and study the layer style settings.

Step 4: Set the drops layer to the Screen blending mode.

Voila, you have created quick and easy water droplets.
