Tip One: Design Your Own Postage Stamps!

Upload your favorite digital photo to this website and order a set of your own personalized US Postal stamps! (Craig's Note: That's my son Wyatt featured on his own postage stamp!)

This is a cool new feature at stamps.com. There are some image limitations, but consider the possibilities: Create special stamps for marketing campaigns; put your studio's logo on a stamp; or just have fun with photos of friends and family.

You'll pay about 50 cents premium above the stamp's face value.

Tip Two: Proofreading With Your Eyes Closed.

If you are running Panther (Mac OS X 10.3) you can create a keyboard shortcut for your Mac to read any selected text out loud. Open the Speech preference pane in System Preferences. Click on the Spoken User Interface tab, and look under the section called Other Spoken Items. Turn on a feature called "Selected Text when the Key Is Pressed," and choose a key command to use. Now, if you select a block of type in any Mac OS X program, you just press your secret keyboard command to have the computer read it out loud. This is a great proofreading technique for typo-prone people (like myself).

If you have not upgraded to Panther yet, you can use TextEdit which can be found in your Mac OS X Applications folder. Copy your text from your document, paste it into TextEdit. Then select Edit > Speech > Start Speaking to have your Mac read the pasted text out loud.
